As a general rule:

Always check the care label inside the garment first. It contains the most important information on how the item should be washed, dried and cared for.

Things to bear in mind:

• Sort your laundry by similar colours (whites, darks and colours) and by similar care requirements.
• The temperature stated on the care label is the maximum permitted temperature. If you are unsure, it is better to wash the item at a lower temperature rather than one that is too high.
• Turn your BEOU. Golf garments inside out before washing to help protect prints, surfaces and colours.
• Rinse functional and sportswear as soon as possible after wearing, especially after contact with sweat, sunscreen or chlorinated water.

Things to avoid:

• Avoid using too much detergent, as this can damage fibres and performance fabrics.
• Avoid using detergents containing bleach.
• Avoid tumble drying garments unless the care label specifically states that it is permitted.
• Avoid ironing directly over prints, logos, embellishments or trims.
• Avoid soaking garments with white or strongly contrasting panels for long periods.
• Avoid soaking items with metal trims, such as zips or eyelets, as this may cause discolouration or damage to the material.
